About Me

Q.  How often do you blog or send out newsletters?

blog every Tuesday and sometimes other days of the week as well.  But you can count on Tuesdays!

On the first Thursday of every month I post revisits of Stencil Test Drives I've conducted. I showcase how different artists used one of my designs from Stencil Girl Products.

I send out a newsletter about once a month, or more.

I also post several times a day on my business FB page, Jessica Sporn Designs.

You can read more about me here.

Q: Do you have an e-mail list?  Or some way to subscribe to your blog?

A: Yes!  Look at the column on the right.  There is a gray box that says "submit."  Enter your email and click submit. You will receive my blog in your e-mail every time I post.  I also have a newsletter, which is different from my blog.  Each month, I send you a free download of a piece of my art, plus other news.  You can sign up for that here.

Q: What does your studio look like? A picture's worth a thousand words so...

Q: Do you have formal art training?

A:  No.  As a child, I took classes at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.  I've also taken online and in-person classes with a lot of wonderful teachers, such as Julie Balzer, Tracy Verdugo, MaryBeth Shaw, Pam Carriker, Jodi Ohl, and more.  Other than that I'm self-taught.

Classes

Q: How can I take classes with you?

A: I offer  group classes in my home studio through Meetup. You have to join Meetup to see them, but it's free to join! I also have downloadable classes you can purchase here.  The online classes come with videos, pdfs, and access to a special Facebook group where you can connect with me and I can answer your questions and give you feedback.

Q: How long will I have access to an online class I purchase from you?

A: Forever! They are yours to download and keep.  I only ask that you not share the video and pdf links with anyone, as this is my livelihood!

Q.  What's the benefit of online classes?

A.  Online classes are convenient - you can tune into them when you have time, and revisit them whenever you would like.  They are an incredible value, and the Facebook group gives you social interaction with like-minded creatives from all over the world.

Q.  How do I know if I'm able to use the technology for an online class?

A.  All you need is an internet connection, which I know you have because you're reading this!  Our online course management system integrates videos, text, teacher interaction and more, and will provide all the links you need!

Q. How do I access my course?

A.  When you register you will get an immediate Paypal receipt and be directed to download page. Your welcome e-mail will be sent within 24 hours. It includes all the info and links you need.  If you do not receive an email within 48 hours, please check your spam folder first and the email address of your Paypal account, then e-mail me to let me know if you did not receive the welcome e-mail. Please forward a copy of your Paypal receipt and the name of the class.

Q.  Do I HAVE to participate in the Facebook Group?  I'm shy about showing my drawings and artwork.

A.   No, but your creativity, artistic ability and confidence will improve dramatically if you do. Please be assured that there is no judgment in the online group: just support, helpful feedback, and encouragement.

Purchasing and Using My Work and Products

Q:  Do you sell your work?

A: Yes. Check out Stencil Girl, Amazon and RubberMoon, Society 6 and on my website (Seasons and Everyday Designs).   From time to time, I also post originals for sale through my Facebook page.
Q: If I make something with one of your products should I send you a photo of it?

A: Please do!  I would love to see your work and perhaps share it too!

Q: Can I use your images on my blog?

A: You are welcome to use an image from my blog, as long as you credit me by name, with a link back.  However, I ask that you not use any of my imagery in work you sell or license.

Q: Is there an angel policy on your stamps and stencils?

A: You have permission to use my images in creating handmade items for sale. You may sell your handmade items but must not claim the images as your own. Your items for sale must be handmade and not mechanically or mass produced. I appreciate your crediting me! The copyrights of these images belong to me and may not be sold or redistributed in any form. You may not use my images for print on demand services such as Cafepress or Zazzle, etc. You may not sell or give these images as digital files or printed sheets. Please don't be a copycat. Respect the © copyright!

Supplies

Q: What kind of paint and ink do you use?  What's your favorite art journal?  What spray ink do you recommend?

A: I get asked about my supplies a lot, so here is a visual guide to my most used supplies. Click on any of the images to purchase that supply online.  Some of these links are affiliate links which means I get a small percentage. It doesn’t cost you anything extra and you are helping me keep this blog and my videos ad free! So thank you!
